Auction at Napa Valley Mustard FestivalProceeds

The Napa Valley Mustard Festival's proceeds benefit a variety of Napa Valley non-profit arts, cultural, historical, educational, and service organizations.

A non-profit 501(c)(4) community service organization, the Napa Valley Mustard Festival introduces the public to the food, wine, art, culture, and agriculture of the Napa Valley - as well as mustards from around the world! It increases revenues for businesses and non-profit organizations during this beautiful unhurried time of year. Proceeds enable The Festival to serve the community of Napa Valley, and to benefit a variety of Napa Valley non-profit arts, cultural, historical, educational, and service organizations. Tickets are not tax-deductible.

The Napa Valley Mustard Festival supports and promotes a number of non-profit events that take place during the Mustard Season.

Organizations including American Red Cross, Clinic Olé, Napa Valley Museum, New Orleans Musicians Hurricane Relief, Parent-Child Advocacy Network, Sharpsteen Museum, Solano College Theatre Dept, and Vintage High School Drama Department have benefited from net proceeds of Napa Valley Mustard Festival-produced events.

The Festival initiated a new fund-raising project in 2006, and contributed approximately $34,000 to the American Red Cross and New Orleans Musician’s Relief Fund to “Help Preserve the Spirit of New Orleans” following devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina. Clarke and Elizabeth Swanson of Swanson Vineyards headed the successful fundraising effort with the assistance of Festival Producer, Summers-McCann Public Relations.

In 2007, The Festival raised approximately $38,000 for Clinic Olé through the sale of Lowell Herrero’s Mustard Festival artwork and Spice! - a dinner dance sponsored by Robert Mondavi Winery. Clinic Olé’s mission is to provide accessible, affordable, quality health care to the under-served in Napa County. It was founded in 1972. An auction lot contributed by Ceja Vineyards and Meadowood Napa Valley at Romantica raised $7,000 for Napa Valley College scholarships for the children of vineyard workers.

In 2008 The Festival’s focus was to support local organizations including Sharpsteen Museum, Parents Can, Vintage High School Drama Department, Women’s Ensemble of Napa Valley College, and Clinic Olé. The Festival continues to support hosting facilities and their educational programming - The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone, and (previously) COPIA: The American Center for Wine, Food & the Arts, both non-profit organizations.
